Refurbishment – A Smarter Alternative to Replacement

Why invest in brand new when your existing chamber can be upgraded for modern performance? Refurbishing an environmental chamber brings it up to current standards-without the high cost and disruption of a full replacement.

Sustainable and Cost-Effective

  • Significantly lower capital expenditure compared to new equipment
  • Reduced environmental impact by reusing existing infrastructure
  • Minimizes waste and supports corporate sustainability goals

Performance-Boosting Upgrades

Our refurbishments typically include:

  • Modern control systems for better data visibility and remote support
  • High-efficiency refrigeration units using low-GWP refrigerants
  • Enhanced mechanical safety features for improved operational reliability

Less Downtime, More Uptime

With targeted upgrades and expert planning, refurbishment projects are completed with minimal disruption to your operations. We work to your schedule to ensure a smooth transition and fast return to service.

Fully Compliant and Future-Ready

Refurbished chambers are updated to meet today’s performance, safety, and environmental standards-so you’re not just extending life, you’re enhancing value.

Delivered On Time – Done Right

ETS delivers end-to-end refurbishment solutions – from design and engineering to commissioning and handover – all completed within your agreed timeline.

Chamber Refurbishment: 45-Year-Old Environmental Test Chamber

Original Condition:

  • Built in the late 1970s
  • Inefficient refrigeration system with ~95 kg of outdated refrigerant
  • Obsolete control system with no remote diagnostics or safety monitoring
  • High energy usage and frequent maintenance issues

Refurbishment Overview by ETS:

  • New mechanical refrigeration system installed using an eco-friendly refrigerant (reduced charge from 95 kg to 18 kg)
  • Upgraded control system with full monitoring of mechanical safety devices
  • Integrated with site’s water-cooling plant and supplemented by on-board air conditioning for efficient heat rejection
  • Chamber fully commissioned, calibrated, and handed over within the agreed timeframe

Results:

  • Significantly improved energy efficiency
  • Reduced risk of unplanned downtime through proactive maintenance alerts
  • Lower future maintenance costs and extended equipment life
  • Compliant with current refrigerant and safety regulations
